PDM have been granted OHSAS 18001:2007 for Health & Safety from the National Standards Authority of Ireland

It is the policy of PDM to provide and maintain as far as is reasonably practicable a working environment that is safe and without risk to health and safety. The company considers Health & Safety to rank equally with all other objectives in the performance of our business. To achieve this arrangements for the management of Health & Safety have been set out in our management system which are aimed at ensuring

• The Health Safety & Welfare of all our staff and others who work under our control
• The safety of visitors, customers and the general public who use or have reason to visit our premises
• Zero fatalities and zero accidents at our premises
   

In order to meet these aims we shall, so far as is reasonably practicable

• Comply with or exceed all applicable legislation and codes of practice for our industry
• Continually improve our Health & Safety Management procedures
• Provide a safe work place for our employees and visitors alike
• Provide safe plant and equipment for our employees
• Ensure our employees and contractors adhere to all rules and regulations for a safe working environment
• Take all due care of visitors and customers at our premises
• Consult with and involve our employees on matters affecting their health & Safety
• Provide information training, instruction, & supervision for our employees
• Ensure safe handling and use of substances
• Provide the necessary resources to implement and maintain these policies

Health and safety is a daily priority of management and results are reported and monitored on a monthly basis at local and senior level. 

Line managers are responsible for ensuring company health & safety policy is followed and that all employees are trained and competent, our safety manager is trained in health & safety risk analysis and prevention.

When accidents or near misses do occur they are fully investigated and corrective action taken to prevent a recurrence. Best practice on health & safety is shared through various trade organisations
